  : Dar Houdou was a little oasis in the middle of the old Fes medina. Having stayed at another riad in Fes prior to our stay at Dar Houdou, we were somewhat nervous about being located down an alleyway which can be intimidating at night. However, the hotel manager, Mohammed, greeted us outside the post office / Hotel Batha and escorted us to Dar Houdou when we arrived so we knew exactly how to get there. We were not harassed at any point later going to and from the Dar. Mohammed was very welcoming and explained about what to do in Fes and helped us book our (early morning) taxi to the airport. The place was very well decorated, very clean and many facilities were provided (air conditioning, hair dryers, some toiletries, tea). Breakfast was very very generous and delicious and the rooftop terrace again provided a tranquil retreat from the bustling medina below. We really enjoyed our stay!
  : The old style dars / riads are exposed to a central courtyard and in Dar Houdou that is where guests took breakfasts each morning. Coupled with traditionally decorated windows and doors with wooden shutters, sound travels around the dar quite easily. I don't think this is avoidable if this is the aesthetic you are hoping to see but something to be aware of.

  : Everything was great, Steve and Mohammed took care of every detail. Although riad is situated very close to Blue gate, it's hard to find it in all those litlle alleys. So if you are coming for the first time, I recommend taking their shuttle from Fes Airport.

  : Good and plentiful breakfast. Mohammed was welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. He also managed for us the tour of Fes with personal driver. Super! Air conditioner in the room very helpful. Comfortable bed.

  : Great Location: close to the Blue Gate and one of the two main streets in Fez. Also a short walk away from the bus station.Lovely Room: we stayed at the terrace room, which might be even nicer in the spring! Its cold in winter during the night, but there were a heater and electric blankets.The owner, welcomed us and gave us all the information necessary. You have your keys so you can come and go whenever you want and free to make coffee or tea and use kitchen in case you need. Breakfast was rich and started from 8am. They allow to pay in local currency and euro as well.

  : Good bedroom with decent heater, comfortable bed with a brand new electric blanket. Breakfast was good. We had to leave very early in the last morning of our stay but the staff was kind enough to leave us fruits, biscuits and other niceties at the kitchen so that we could eat before our trip. They allowed us to extend our stay for one night, which was very nice.
  : Even though the staff was nice and helpful, they were at the place only when we arrived and for a couple hours during breakfast the mornings after that. When we had to contact them by phone our requests were promptly attended but we expected to have someone there more often, at least during daytime.
